Maria Toro-Troconis
E-learning Strategy and Development Manager
Maria is the E-learning Strategy and Development Manager at the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London. Her main role is to support the development and delivery of the Faculty’s e-learning strategy.
Maria has extensive experience working in e-learning having developed several e-learning programmes for various UK Universities. Maria’s background is in Computer Science and Human Factors. Her research interest is game-based learning and virtual worlds. Her key skills include instructional design, coordination across distributed teams, business analysis and project management.
She also has an in depth knowledge of International Learning Standards and their implementation across platforms. Maria has recently completed The Imperial College Horizon Leaders Programme.

Julie Edwards
Learning Technologist
Julie has experience in the management & development of e-learning. She has developed interactive teaching materials for the Undergraduate Medicine courses. Also, she supports the development and maintenance of computer-based systems related to the delivery of the Undergraduate Medicine Programme and manages the presentation and storage of information on the Undergradate Teaching Intranet as well as associated Faculty Internet pages. Ashish Hemani
E-learning Project Manager
Ashish is an e-Learning Project Manager at the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London.
He holds an MBA and a Bachelor degree in Computer Science. He is a certified PRINCE2 professional and has the breadth of experience of executing number of learning assignments in an academic setting combined with versatile and global commercial skills.
His main role is to manage and support the Virtual Patient Application project; work closely with partners, internal editors and academic staff to develop and deliver professional standard learning resources; explore and research current national and international activities and projects in the Medical domain.

Akram Ameen
Learning Technologist
Akram is a Learning Technologist at the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London.
Having completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, he has accumulated vast experience in web development, programming, testing, graphical design, e-Learning development, LMS management and technical support.
His role is to manage and support various projects delegated by the e-Learning Project Manager. Current work involves providing support for the E-Portfolio system, providing analysis and reporting on a number of current projects and preparing a strategy to pilot new VLE systems within the Faculty of Medicine.
